  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 shortcrust pastry
  • 230 g sugar (9/10 cup)
  • 100 g butter (7 tablespoons)
  • 500 g pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon of allspice
  • salt

Steps for making Pumpkin pie:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°c (th 6).
  2. Place the shortcrust pastry in the tin.
  3. Cover with a sheet of greaseproof paper and dried beans or ceramic balls.
  4. Bake the pastry for 15 minutes.
  5. Steam the pumpkin and drain it.
  6. Blend or puree the pumpkin.
  7. In a bowl, beat the eggs with 150 g of sugar.
  8. Add the salt.
  9. Add the spices.
  10. Mix.
  11. Melt the butter.
  12. Add half the butter to the mixture.
  13. Add the pumpkin to the mixture.
  14. Mix until the dough is smooth.
  15. Pour the mixture into the tin with the batter.
  16. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the top.
  17. Spread the remaining butter on top.
  18. Bake for 45 minutes, remove the caramelised pumpkin pie from the pan.
  19. An original cake that is delicious with a sweet, mild taste that is very close to the taste of sweet potatoes.
