Los pronombres recíprocos se usan para expresar que dos o más personas realizan una acción mutuamente, es decir, el uno al otro. No es una acción que vuelve sobre uno mismo (como con los reflexivos), sino una acción compartida.

En inglés solo existen dos pronombres recíprocos, pero se usan muchísimo en la lengua cotidiana.

1️⃣ ¿Qué son los pronombres recíprocos?

Un pronombre recíproco indica que:

• La acción es mutua
• Participan al menos dos personas
• Todos hacen la acción y la reciben

📌 Ejemplo básico

• Tom helps Anna.
• Anna helps Tom.

👉 Con pronombre recíproco:

• Tom and Anna help each other.

En inglés solo hay dos:

📎 En inglés moderno, each other también se usa con más de dos personas en lenguaje informal.

4️⃣ ONE ANOTHER

✅ Uso principal

One another se usa tradicionalmente cuando hay más de dos personas.

• The students helped one another.
• We should support one another.
• The members of the group trust one another.

5️⃣ Diferencia entre pronombres recíprocos y reflexivos

Este punto es clave para evitar errores.

🔹 Pronombre reflexivo

👉 La acción vuelve al mismo sujeto

• She blamed herself.
  (Ella se culpó a sí misma)

🔹 Pronombre recíproco

👉 La acción es mutua

• They blamed each other.
  (Se culparon el uno al otro)

⚠️ Error típico

❌ They blamed themselves.
(Eso significaría que cada uno se culpó a sí mismo, no mutuamente)

6️⃣ Posición en la frase

Los pronombres recíprocos suelen colocarse:

• Después del verbo
• Después del objeto

7️⃣ Pronombres recíprocos con preposiciones

Muy habitual en inglés.

📎 La preposición no se elimina.

9️⃣ Alternativa sin pronombre recíproco

A veces, el inglés puede expresar reciprocidad sin usar pronombre, especialmente con verbos como meet, marry, kiss.

Pero si queremos enfatizar la reciprocidad, usamos el pronombre:

• They met each other yesterday.
